VI.             Committee reports:
a.       Paul – debriefed last SMT meeting where his niece’s school wants to do a challenge day, discussed competitions including bowling, figure skating, and upcoming (now completed) Fall Games (he lead the athlete oath)
b.      Ryan – also debriefed SMT meeting including discussions about Aquatics, Softball/Bocce, SMT Christmas party, and continuing discussions about basketball and the need for a venue/location
c.       Denise – had Families and Outreach set up at bowling competition and it went extremely well – Martha, Bertha, and Stacey and Leanne attended as well; Denise stated that Families is all about encouragement and improvement for the athletes and families.

VII.          Jim – gave report on bowling.  Volunteered and helped with various aspects of bowling, particularly with scoring and opening ceremonies (where he announced the teams); it was a wonderful time and it went extremely well. All coaches and athletes were impressed with how smooth it was.  Everyone is looking forward to it next year; 600+ volunteers and 2,500+ athletes over a 10 day competition.

VIII.       Polar Plunge – Cyndi would like ALP’s to attend the polar plunge; 3 to 4 athletes at registration, 2 to 3 athletes walking around talking about SOTX, plunging will start at 10:00 AM.  If athletes would like to plunge with Cyndi, it is $50.00.  All money goes towards SOTX.

IX.             Cyndi forgot survey results L, but is still waiting on a few of them from some members – Ryan Falcon, Jim Myers and Myles Barmon

X.                Holiday party will be at Paul Holland’s House on December 4th.  We will be donating food, etc to SPCA, so please bring food/toy that you think your pet would like to have to donate to SPCA.

XI.             Other announcements:
a.       Next meeting is Tuesday, January 17th at Region 10 at 7pm; Area Conference will happen before at 5:30pm
b.      Volleyball Competition is this Saturday, November 19th at SMU Dedman Center and McCullogh Intermediate School (Highland Park ISD)
c.       Basketball Coaches Training is Saturday, December 3rd from 9 AM – 3 PM at McCullogh Intermediate School;
d.      Cyndi would like ALP’s members to become coaches; she also clarified a few regarding certification of becoming a coach: if athlete is a head coach, he/she cannot participate in that particular competition; however, if the athlete is an assistant coach, he/she may compete in the competition; example: Blaine is head coach for golf, so he cannot compete in golf competition; decides he wants to be an assistant coach and he is then able to compete in competitions (attached is the coaching reminders for everyone)
